Collection: Cassie Suche

Cassandra (Cassie) Suche’s practice is highly experimental, with a focus on process and material research. A graduate from Leeds Arts University in the UK, she is known for designing her own tools and adopting a systematic, generative approach to production. Pattern is at the root of her practice, but within Suche’s work repetition is not just a formal device, it is a transformative process that reveals emergent qualities.

Suche creates the Migration drawings one line at a time. The process involves repeated blunt contact between the paper and copic, which often causes the pen to fail. Many of the drawings are a documentation of the pen progressively wearing down, a literal display of the material’s incremental disintegration.
