Ash Godley (b.2001) is a Toronto-based painter whose practice explores the uncanny, haunted atmosphere of Canadian landscapes at night. These familiar spaces are made eerie under the synthetic light of flashlight beams, tv screens, and camera flashes, and are translated into paint from Godley’s photography. In these works the viewer is transformed into an active participant as they look through the eyes of an observer; one who creeps along walls, peers into house windows, and searches through bushes.

Godley graduated from the University of Guelph in 2024 with an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art and Art History. Shown locally; MKG127 (2026), the Plumb (2026), Northern Contemporary (2026), Janey (2026) and the Art Gallery of Guelph (2025). Art fairs include the Artist Project (2024, 2025, 2026) and the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair (2026).
