Jasmine Cardenas

Jasmine Cardenas is a Canadian-Ecuadorian multidisciplinary artist, working in sculptural painting, collage, and installation. Often influenced by family stories and traditions, lived experiences and her domestic environment, Cardenas’ work floats between real and imagined spaces. At times culturally specific, and at times intuitively lead by the tactile materials used in her practice. Cardenas holds a BFA from OCAD University (2017) and is currently based in Hamilton, Ontario. She was the recipient of the 2020 Jarislowsky Foundation Emerging Artists Award.
