Robin Clason
Glass has been my primary medium for most of my practice. It evolved from sheets of glass to flame work, then to neon. I've always considered myself a sculptor, and when the opportunity arose to learn neon "bending" as it's called, I apprenticed and worked in a new york city studio learning the craft.
Light is also what I consider to be a medium I use, and in my work I desire for the viewer a moment with the light as both sculptural + as presence. The light inside every neon you've ever seen including my own comes from a star creating gases in the universe that are then harnessed into glass figures and illuminated.
It is simply cosmic.
